Griffith Owen who farmed Hafod Lwyfog in the 1920's and his housekeeper Maggie Jones with a Shepherds hut at Llyn Gwynant. Griffith and his brother John Owen bought the farm of 546 acres for £1525. John Owen farmed Bwlch (at the far end of the lake, now part of Hafod y Llan) and Griffith Owen farmed Hafod Lwyfog until he died until 1933. It then went to auction in 1934 when Clough Williams-Ellis bought it.
