Booking with us
Bookings are required for all campers and day visitors, with payment at the time of booking. Our campsite is mainly for tents in unallocated pitches, which means you choose where to pitch on the grass camping fields when you arrive. Your car is parked nearby but not beside your tent. If you want electric hook-up (EHU), are camping in a van or roof tent, or want a lakeside non-EHU bay for a tent you can choose a designated pitch. To check prices or book a pitch, first choose your visit type, dates and guest numbers, then press Search below.
Include all guests with your booking as you may not be able to add more later if we get full.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If you cancel your booking 14 days or more before arrival, we will provide a full refund less a £5 admin fee. No refunds for cancellations or moving booking dates less than 14 days before arrival. We do not give refunds because of bad weather as this is out of our control. If you want the flexibility to cancel for bad weather, please take out your own travel insurance.
Booking information

book an Unallocated tent pitch no EHU with car. A daily fee is added as you book for your car, small van or motorbike. You may have multiple tents and up to 8 on one booking. No more than 15 people may pitch together . Your car will not be parked next to your tent. You can also reserve a Lakeside tent pitch without EHU.
If you don’t have a vehicle book a Backpacker pitch – you may have one small tent and no more than 4 people on the pitch.
-
choose either a Small tent with EHU if your tent will fit (including guylines) a grass bay 7 × 8m, or Large tent with EHU if your tent is larger but less than 9 × 11m. Tents bigger than 9 × 11m cannot be accommodated with EHU (but may be booked into an Unallocated tent pitch. Only one tent may be included on these bays.
-
book a Lakeside van bay; these all have EHU. Only side pull-out awnings up to 1.5m wide are permitted, not stand-alone ones. Tents may not be pitched on or next to these bays. The bays have a gravel surface with grass beside and are near the lakefront. Vans accepted include VW Crafters, Ford Transits, Mercedes Sprinters, Fiat Ductatos, and must be single axle only. There are only 6 bays, so book well in advance.
-

Some details of charges and pitches:
There is a minimum charge for two adults for all bay bookings but not for unallocated tent and backpacker pitches.
The vehicle charge varies with the pitch type and is included in the quoted price: £2 per night for an unallocated tent, £4 per night for a bay, and £6 per night for a lakeside van bay.
The charge for EHU is £7 per night.
Van bays have hard-standing but not concrete – this is a natural environment and can get muddy.
Occupied vehicles must be booked into van bays – no sleeping is allowed in vehicles in car parks.
Vehicles over 6m long can only be booked in a Lakeside van bay, not parked around the camping fields.
Roof tents and tent boxes must be booked into a small van/roof tent bay with or without EHU, and have one side awning only.
Awnings or small pup tents may be booked as an extra on a small van/roof tent bay, but must fit with your vehicle on a 7m-wide bay.
Other extras include a daily fee for a trailer, additional car or motorbike, gazebos and/or a dog: not every extra is available for every bay type.
Caravans and trailer tents are not accepted at the campsite. Lightweight micro-trailers or tear drops no more than 1.8m wide and less than 2m long may be wheeled by hand on to the camping fields, but please check before booking that we will accept these.
When booking with us
Please include all guests in your booking– if the campsite gets full you may not be able to add more later. Maximum numbers for a booking are between 4 to 8 people. If a booking is found to be dishonest or incorrect when checking tent tags – eg, with undeclared guests, dogs or extras – you will be asked to leave immediately with no refund.
A booking for the wrong pitch type is not valid (eg, booking an oversized vehicle into a small van bay). Any booking with a balance that remains unpaid for more than 2 weeks prior to arrival may be cancelled.
Arrive from 2pm, depart by 11am unless you have an unallocated tent booking and purchase early check-in or late check-out as an extra. Early check-in allows you to arrive from 9am. Late check-out allows you to stay up to 6pm – if you do not leave by then you will charged for another night. No early check-in is available for reserved van and tent bays.
Weekend bookings in summer school holidays are for 2 nights, 3 nights for bank holidays. Near the arrival date we may allow single-night bookings for these days if there is still availability, so check the booking system.
Confirmation: A confirmation email is sent to you when your booking is completed and payment received.
We do not amend or cancel bookings unless requested by the person who made the original booking. This is the case even if the person requesting the changes is included as a guest.

Our campsite is a quiet place for enjoying nature. We do not want groups to be noisy nor to consume too much alcohol.
Groups
-
Groups pitching together are limited to 15 people (adults and children, including infants).
Everyone in the group must keep to our rules, including being quiet after 11pm, see Rules.
No parties or celebrations, no hen, stag or birthday parties are allowed as it is hard for them to stay quiet after 11pm.
Groups of rowdy people will be asked to leave. We sometimes allow a group to stay after a warning on payment of a £50 per person behaviour bond; if bad behaviour continues the bond is forfeited and the group must leave.
Any groups excluded from the campsite will forfeit all fees paid.
Organised groups
Bona fide groups with a nominated leader who can provide evidence they are from a charity or other organization may be accepted with more than 15 participants – email us at enquiries@llyngwynant.com.
Depending on numbers you will be asked to pay a good-behaviour bond.
-
A refundable good-behaviour bond of £300 is required for 21–40 people and £500 for more than 40 – please contact us with your booking numbers and we will apply the rate. This will be repaid in full, providing our policies have been respected throughout the stay.
Conditions for the bond refund are that behaviour has been responsible, campsite rules followed, wardens’ instructions obeyed and fellow campers treated with respect.
-
Maximum size is 20 people. If you want to bring a larger group you must contact us for approval – do not simply make multiple bookings. If approved, in order not to disturb other campers, we will ask you to split into separate groups of 20 people and to pitch throughout the campsite, not near each other. A refundable good behaviour bond is required (see left.)
The youth rate applies to all those under 18 years of age; for those 18 and over the usual adult rate applies.
Staff staying overnight in vans and/or wanting EHU must book appropriate bays.
Bookings and bonds must be made online with a bank card. We are happy to supply VAT receipts on request.
Youth groups are not accepted on summer holiday weekends or bank holiday weekends.
Respect other campers, keep to our campsite rules, including quiet after 11pm, and do not use the Cegin canopy, toilet block, laundry or cooking areas as social gathering places or changing areas. No boots are to be placed in laundry machines or under hand driers.
Youth groups
Groups, including Duke of Edinburgh award candidates, school and scout groups, may stay as long as they have a nominated leader and provide evidence they are from an appropriate organization. These conditions must be met:
Weather
The campsite is in the bottom of a mountain valley and can be subject to extreme weather conditions. Very strong winds and torrential rain can occur at any time of year with localised flooding. Please ensure that your camping gear is robust and correctly erected, and avoid pitching in any obvious dips. The weather forecast is put in reception window each morning.
