Our rules
Ours is a quiet family campsite on private land. It is a condition of staying that you must abide by our simple rules, which are designed to make sure everyone here has a pleasant and safe stay and so are very important to us.
-
Pitch tents behind white posts, leaving the lake beach for everyone to enjoy.
Quiet talking only after 11pm. Silence after midnight. Those who are noisy after a warning will be asked to leave or pay a behaviour bond of £50 per person.
No sound systems or noise from devices allowed at any time. Acoustic instruments such as guitars before 10pm – but no drums!
No drones, no generators – both are strictly forbidden.
Dogs: maximum 2 per booking – they must be on a lead at all times except in the dog walking area, and must be cleaned up after. We have zero tolerance of dogs off leads – you will be asked to leave if you do not comply.
Groups must be small, no more than 15 people may pitch together in camping fields. Backpacker pieces are limited to 5, small van bays are limited to 6 people; the other reserved bays to 8.
Distance between tents: at least 6m between tents of different groups in the camping fields.
Barbecues may be used if raised at least 6 inches above the ground so they do not damage the grass. So-called “disposable” bbqs are not permitted.
Security: we do our best to maintain a safe site but cannot accept responsibility for the security of vehicles or belongings: be sensible and ensure that all valuables, mountain bikes, canoes etc are properly secured at all times.
Please do not come if you feel these rules are unreasonable as we enforce them. If they are ignored you will be warned and charged a behaviour bond. If poor behaviour persists the bond is forfeited and any payments made are not refunded and you must leave.
We reserve the right to refuse to accept a booking.

Camp fires are allowed only if they are small, on one of our metal firebox stands and use wood bought from us – bags are sold outside reception around 6.00 pm.
Do not light fires on the ground or collect wood from surrounding farm or woodland.
Do not bring wood, coal or other combustible materials onto our site for fires.
The lake
Your own kayaks, canoes, dinghies and sailboats are welcome if you are camping with us but you will be charged for launching boats if you are not, see our Prices page for details.
No power boats or motor craft are allowed on the lake or river.
Fishing is not allowed on river or lake.
Weather
The campsite is in the bottom of a mountain valley and can be subject to extreme weather conditions. Very strong winds and torrential rain can occur at any time of year with localised flooding.
Please ensure that your camping gear is robust and correctly erected, and avoid pitching in any obvious dips.
The weather forecast is put in reception window each morning.
