My partner and I chose Llyn Gwynant Barns as our wedding venue for 06.06.26 after spending many years visiting Wales, and this part of North Wales in particular. It has always been a place that felt incredibly special to us, so when we found Llyn Gwynant Barns, we knew we'd found somewhere truly unique.
The barns themselves are absolutely stunning. In all honesty, they hardly need any decoration at all. The beautiful high ceilings, lighting, rustic furniture and incredible surroundings do all the hard work for you. Set above a beautiful lake and surrounded by mountains, with Snowdon just a short drive away, the views are breathtaking from every angle.
One of the biggest draws for us was having exclusive use of the venue for the entire weekend. So many venues we viewed had early curfews and strict schedules, whereas once you're at Llyn Gwynant Barns, it genuinely feels like your own space to enjoy. It's almost like having a giant Airbnb in one of the most beautiful locations in Wales.
From our very first viewing in 2025, the venue completely took our breath away and we knew we had to book it. In fact, that one visit was all it took. Between booking in August 2025 and our wedding in June 2026, we never visited again—we simply knew this was where we wanted to get married.
Throughout the planning process, Steve and Nikki made organising our wedding from a distance incredibly easy. We only had ten months to plan everything, but every question was answered clearly and promptly, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble.
When the wedding weekend finally arrived, everything was just perfect. Nikki checked us in and was on hand to answer any last-minute questions and talk us through the finer details of the wedding day. I would also like to give Nikki a special thank you for going to the ends of the earth to help us source dried petal confetti when we realised we'd forgotten ours!
Once we were settled in, we were left to enjoy the venue and set everything up exactly as we wanted. That freedom and flexibility made such a difference.
On the Friday, some of our guests arrived early and we all enjoyed fish and chips together under the marquee with welcome drinks while taking in the incredible scenery. It was such a lovely, relaxed start to the weekend and gave everyone a chance to settle in before the celebrations began.
When our wedding day arrived, everything ran so smoothly. Nikki was on-site nice and early, helping to keep everything calm and running seamlessly with gentle prompts on timings when needed. Steve was behind the bar for us throughout the day, alongside another lovely member of staff. A huge shout-out to Steve, who was recovering from an operation but was still there, smiling and ready to help wherever he could.
The day itself was everything we had hoped for. The weather held out, which meant we could make the most of the stunning surroundings for our photographs and enjoy some peaceful moments together as newlyweds amongst the mountains and lake.
The celebrations continued until just after midnight and, while the music finished as agreed, guests were free to continue enjoying the venue and each other's company. That relaxed atmosphere is one of the things that makes Llyn Gwynant Barns so special.
We booked the venue from Thursday through to Monday, and I am so glad we did. Having the extra day on Sunday meant there was no pressure to rush around clearing up. Instead, we were able to tidy up gradually and actually enjoy being there after the wedding. The weather completely changed and the rain poured down all day, so we lit the fire in the main barn and spent the afternoon with family and friends chatting around it. It was such a cosy and memorable end to an incredible weekend.
Looking back now, we genuinely had the best weekend of our lives. Every single one of our guests has commented on how beautiful the barns and surrounding area are, and so many have told us it was one of the most unique and special wedding venues they've ever visited.
We can't thank Steve, Nikki and the whole team enough for their calm, friendly and unobtrusive support throughout the weekend. Nothing was ever too much trouble, yet they never felt intrusive. They were simply there whenever we needed them.

The whole venue was absolutely perfect: the gorgeous barns which were so beautiful for our ceremony, dinner and dance floor. The amazing campsite with 360 degree views of the mountains. The quick one minute walk to a fresh lake we swam in every day.
Steve was absolutely incredible, so calm, friendly and helpful. He ensured everything ran smoothly with our wedding and couldn’t have possibly been any more lovely, helpful and wonderful. We could have the venue for the whole weekend (even Sunday night) so we could hold our loved ones close for even longer.
The tents (Bear Tents) were wonderful, so gorgeous, well decorated, comfy. It meant family who wouldn’t otherwise be able to come camping, could come to our wedding and be comfy in style!
We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend.

We were given free rein of the site from Friday lunch until Monday lunch.
We had an outdoor ceremony looking over the lake, an incredible pizza van for our sit-down meal, and the band and DJ right up until 12am. Steve and the team always had a smile and recommendations for the best way to do things, and the flexibility made it the perfect weekend.
We were able to invite everyone back for a Sunday BBQ and a refreshing dip in the lake, spending more time with those people who had traveled far and wide.

Our hunt for the perfect wedding venue didn’t take long; as soon as we set our eyes on Llyn Gwynant we knew it was the place for us! Having grown up nearby and having spent a lot of time in the Eryri hills, we wanted a venue that represented us as a couple but also the Welsh culture and landscape.
Being able to rent the venue from the Friday night until the Sunday also means we could provide our guests a fully immersive Welsh weekend! For anyone outdoorsy it was just perfect, most of our guests stayed in Steve’s bell tents which we hired from Bear Tents. The setup was handled by Steve and his team which was seamless from start to finish – we had over 60 guests stay next to the venue and they were made to feel so welcome, cosy and comfy. It was epic having our own glamping village! Others brought their own tents or vans to hook up. Everyone made the most of the surroundings on the morning of the wedding with lake dips & trail runs!
Steve & Danielle were absolute saints in providing us our DIY mountain wedding of dreams. We loved the fact that they provided the most beautiful, rustic venue that came as a blank canvas, and we made it our own with fairy lights, candles & flowers! It felt so unbelievably authentic to us as a couple and that’s the feedback we got from all of our guests. I don’t think any other wedding venue would have come close to encapsulating us both.

Having viewed a few other wedding venues, the barns and surrounding area took our breath away. After a viewing with Steve, we knew it was the place for us to tie the knot. We met at Bangor University and it seemed apt that we married in beautiful Wales.
We loved the rustic feel to the venue combined with the endless possibilities that it presented. The barn itself was beautiful during the ceremony and cosy / atmospheric for the evening meal / ceilidh. The surrounding views had it all; towering mountains, rolling fields and a lake at the base. Completing the scene were the bell tents that not only provided comfortable and fun accommodation for our guests, but also the perfect back-drop to our wedding, both at day and at night (e.g. fairy lights, flags). We cannot recommend both the bell tents and the venue enough.
Choosing this venue does come with an element of DIY, but through emails with Danielle, and on the weekend itself, the venue staff and Steve, provided constant support and our day went very smoothly as a result. Though the venue can be used in multiple ways, here’s a rundown of what we decided to do: guests stayed in a mixture of camper vans, bell tents and their own tents, we had a fish and chip van on the Friday night (big crowd pleaser), guests took multiple dips in the nearby lake, the wedding photos were insane (despite the slightly adverse weather), we had a fantastic caterer for the Saturday followed by a very fun ceilidh, and then on Sunday we hosted a massive brunch using the very functional kitchen.
Put simply, we loved our wedding at this venue!!

Having spent a lot of time around Snowdonia in the past, and having camped at the campsite, as soon as we saw the Barns we knew it was the place to host our special day. The magic of this part of the world is enough as it is, but the service assistance and complete love and care from Steve and Danielle made it a truly unforgettable experience for not just us, but all of our friends and family as well.
Throughout the entire planning process, Danielle and Steve were helpful, responsive and accommodating at every turn. On the day they were amazing and truly helped bring our dream to life, on-hand to assist in the smooth delivery of the wedding as well as friendly and approachable to all of the guests and vendors.

We had the most amazing time, which is all thanks to you guys being so helpful, calm and patient with us. Organising a wedding in just 11 months whilst selling and moving house was no easy feat and you both made us feel so reassured and supported and helped to make our weekend work so smoothly.
We couldn’t have asked for a better work force to help us and a better venue with such stunning views. We also loved that we could make it our own and decorate it how we liked, so many of our guests commented on how very ‘us’ the wedding was, so unique and different. We also loved being able to stay at the venue for the whole weekend with our family and friends, it really extended the wedding celebrations which had we gone to a different venue we wouldn’t have experienced.
We loved the camping vibe and the community spirit of everyone ‘mucking in’ together to get the wedding underway. We loved that we could have a camp fire on the Sunday night to roast some marsh mellows, that we could have alpacas come along to the wedding and we could plant a love tree as an alternative to exchanging rings in the ceremony.
We couldn’t have done these things anywhere else. We truly can’t thank you enough for making our weekend the best one we’ve ever had! We were so sad to leave on the Monday.
We’d love to come back and visit sometimes and definitely camp at the campsite next year to celebrate our anniversary and visit Cecil our love tree.

We were amazingly lucky with the weather and booking for the extra night meant we were really able to relax with our family and soak it all in the next day.
The teepees were beautifully set up adding to the relaxed atmosphere and having the lake (and our shorts and tshirts) nearby was certainly helpful when the heatwave got too much!

We knew this place was special as soon as we made that drive down the valley 2 or so years ago, but who knew it was full of such special people. We couldn’t have asked for kinder, friendlier or more down to earth people to share such an important day with – we were happy to have them with us and hope we didn’t cause too much stress (or break too many glasses!)
We weren’t always sure if we wanted to get married but will now and forever more rest easy that we 100% made the right decision and chose the right place. We wish we could have it all on video and watch it over and over again.
From the moment we visited the barns for the first time the staff there were so attentive, showing us around the place with pride, telling tales of themselves or their own loved ones getting married there, answering every question and giving us as much breathing space as we needed to think things through and plan things out. From then on, Danielle answered our many long and rambling emails, and let us come back to visit the place on numerous occasions.
On the weekend itself they trusted us to essentially move into the barns, letting us treat it as we would our home and have a pre-wedding party on the Friday night. On the wedding day they ran around making everything perfect whilst also blending into the background (no idea how they managed it!) They truly were a well-oiled machine! Everything was seamless, from the set up and room changeovers to the drinks packages and music system. Our friends happily pitched in wherever needed and together we created a lovely community feel and atmosphere.
We just floated around for the whole 3 nights, surrounded by our closest friends and family, full of love and joy. If you’re considering booking Llyn Gwynant, look no further! We promise it will be magical

Llyn Gwynant Barns was the dream venue for our relaxed, Welsh festival themed wedding. Set in the stunning Snowdonia National Park, you just can’t get much better than this. The team there went the extra mile to accommodate our rather large wedding guest-list with most of our friends and family deciding to stay on site with us in gorgeously decorated bell tents. No wedding is the same at this venue, with artistic license to make the place your own.
We had a fantastic weekend celebrating and dancing till the early morning. A quick lake swim the next morning to wake us all up was a perfect way to end the weekend.
Guests absolutely loved the venue just as much as we did and they all had a great time! We’ll be visiting again to camp at the main campsite and will forever hold this place close to our hearts.
We planted a tree on our wedding day which will hopefully be there for the next 100 years, a part of us left there to mark our special day.

Our experience planning our wedding at Llyn Gwynant barns could not have been more ideal. From start to finish the whole team including Danielle, Stevie, Becky and the staff were incredibly supportive and made the process of planning our wedding very easy.
All of our questions were answered fully and promptly, we were offered extra assistance where necessary, they put us in touch with reliable caterers, and on the day itself everyone made everything happen exceptionally smoothly.

We absolutely made the right decision choosing Llyn Gwynant Barns as our place to get married and celebrate with friends and family.
One look at the place and we were sold, with the perfect backdrop of the lake and mountains, and beautifully renovated Barns. The staff, particularly Danielle and Stevie, are genuinely great people who had our backs all the way through the process.
They supported us from the start by accommodating visits, answering questions and providing ideas and inspiration. On the wedding weekend they made everything happen so smoothly – we needn’t have stressed a bit in the run up to the wedding about room transitions & setups, music and audio systems, or little details like lighting the campfire because the staff had it all under control, allowing us and our guests to properly relax and enjoy the celebrations. A special shout out also goes to the late Nic, who first welcomed us to the Barns and made us feel so excited about getting married there.
The weekend long booking allowed us and our guests to make the most of the lovely venue, enjoying our stay in the quirky and comfy bell tents provided by Stevie’s Bear Necessities Tents company in the camping field. Two caravans were also easily accommodated on the field, creating a lovely inclusive camping village & festival feel. The weather wasn’t the nicest to us on the Sunday, but if it was a bit more pleasant, we would have made the most of the easy access to the lake and gone out paddling – boats are available to hire from the campsite! Talking of the lake, it made a beautiful spot for a breather moment away from the buzz of the wedding and a quick romantic photoshoot before dinner!
Overall, the Barns provide all the facilities and vibes you could need for the most special, outdoorsy, chilled out weekend long wedding venue. We wish we could do it all over again!

Our wedding day couldn’t have gone better, despite multiple threats of lockdowns and changing guidance we always felt that with Nic at Gwynant Barns that we had the breathing space to plan whatever kind of wedding that the government would allow at the time.
Nic was ever patient and always rapid in her replies, her advice and knowledge was brilliant and we were never made to feel pressured.

Due to covid our wedding had been postponed but the barns and their staff were wonderful about the whole thing and never made us feel like our day wouldn’t happen.
Nic and her staff bent over backwards to ensure we had the best day. All our guests have said what a wonderful time they had, what a beautiful location and how fabulous the barns and bell tents (supplied by Steve from Bear Necessities) were.
The barn staff and all the suppliers linked with them helped with all the days little things and made sure it went without a hitch.

After rearranging 4 times due to Covid, we finally had our wedding in the beautiful Llyn Gwynant barns. Nic and Steve helped us throughout the day and ensured that everything ran smoothly.

From sending wines to London be sampled, catering to our diverse dietary requirements, ensuring the smooth running of the day and the warm yet professional service from the whole team – we could not have asked for a more personable and unforgettable experience.
Special mention to Nic for being absolutely stellar in her communication and reassuring us that no question was too big or small, she really made us comfortable and relaxed.
Big ups to Steve for providing a cot for our youngest guest and setting up the most magical yurts and being so thoughtful with finishing touches. He also went above and beyond helping with the tech side of things ensuring we could stream the ceremony to our loved ones overseas.
The barns are stunning with bags of character and charm plus all the amenities we needed to create the wedding we had always wanted. We especially loved the stain glass window and all the outdoor spaces that we used for different parts of the day, like having welcome drinks in the front courtyard and the canapés by the fire pit.
Not only were the surrounding areas the perfect backdrop for our special day and made for the most amazing photos, we were also able to camp out amongst the stars and hire out boats to explore the lakes the morning after the wedding with our party.
We wish we could do this all over again and would recommend for any couple wanting an enchanting, outdoorsy wedding with phenomenal service to look no further than Llyn Gwynant Barns.

Our wedding at Llyn Gwynant Barns was the absolute best day of our lives.
It was perfect in every way and I cannot thank the staff enough. From the day we booked, nothing was too much trouble. They go above and beyond for you!
We arranged our wedding throughout a global pandemic and I did not at any point feel stressed. Everything we wanted they were able to sort or advise us about and I felt so looked after and informed throughout the process.
You only have to visit the barns to see how stunning they are and just the perfect location for a wedding.
We hired Tepees (from Steve at Bear Tents) and stayed for 2 nights with our friends and family which meant the wedding wasn’t over in just one day. So many of our guests used this as their holiday for the year and all said how beautiful it was.
We used Truefood catering and Chris Morse as our photographer and these were also amazing. The caterers, along with barn staff, decorated the venue for us and it took my breath away walking in there and seeing all of their hard work.

We wanted a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by nature and beautiful views, and a venue that would allow us to decorate for ourselves and have an informal, simple meal. The barns are just beautiful and the location really can’t be beaten – all our guests were full of comments and compliments about the stunning views and the barns facilities.
We wanted to use local vendors so were thrilled when we were informed that the barns would be able to provide our choice of local beers alongside their already well stocked bar! We rallied together friends and family to help us set up the decorations and did all the flowers ourselves – having the barns for the whole weekend meant that we had plenty of time to make it look exactly as we imagined and the staff at Llyn Gwynant were more than accommodating and helpful throughout.
I really have to give a shout out to Nic who helped us out from the very beginning and really made the whole process so easy and stress free! On the day, all of the staff and especially Emilie, were great and assisted us with various furniture moves and provided a seamless service at the bar.
All in all, we wouldn’t change a thing – our wedding day was exactly as we pictured and we had the best day. A big part of that is down to the venue and we can’t thank you enough!

We appreciated the option to rent Bell tents for our guests, and the large kitchen area. The main barn itself looks stunning and was easily big enough for our meal with ~120 guests, and then a ceilidh after. Staff were helpful, friendly and enthusiastic. The new patio area with benches was popular as a sheltered outdoor area, while the lake and tree provided a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony.
We’re very happy to recommend Llyn Gwynant, especially if you love the outdoors and want the freedom to run things your own way.

The very first time we visited Llyn Gwynant, we knew it was the perfect wedding venue for us, being situated in one of the most stunning parts of Snowdonia. The Barns themselves are beautiful, inside and out, and allow so much freedom to make them your own (although we ended up doing very little to them – they’re perfect as they are!). There are so many areas of the venue that make it so special – we were drawn particularly by the back patio area, which was great for sitting outside by the fire pit in the evening, and the extensive private fields where guests can wander to explore the views – and we could plant an oak tree! Something for us to come back to visit on our anniversary!
We hired the venue from Friday through to Sunday, and our guests staying onsite really enjoyed settling in on the Friday night, making use of the well-equipped kitchen and chill-out area, as well as the campsite’s bar and pizzeria. Steve and his team excelled themselves setting up tipis for our guests (in bad weather that thankfully cleared up for the wedding itself!) – having everyone on site in this way created a really relaxed, festival-like atmosphere, and Steve was on hand into the evening to ensure everyone was happy with their comfy beds & bedding!
All of the staff were amazing, from start to finish. Nic and Steve in particular were super friendly and extremely helpful from the start, happy to answer all of our questions and show us around when we were booking and planning. On the day itself, the Gwynant team couldn’t have been more helpful in making the day run smoothly, always flexible, and going above and beyond with everything. We can’t put into words how much we appreciate their time and effort!
In short, our wedding couldn’t have been better – we’d love to do it all over again! The words that sum it all up best though came from one of our guests (and echoed by others): “Amazing venue, amazing wedding – All weddings should be like this”. Thank you!

Because the barns is essentially a blank but extremely beautiful canvas you have the unique opportunity to make it look and feel exactly the way you want. Having our guests camp gave our wedding a chilled festival vibe which was just a lovely feeling to carry throughout the weekend and the bell tents (Bear Necessities) were just gorgeous. The barn staff couldn’t have been more helpful and lovely in the run up to the day and on the day itself, helping make our day run smoothly but in a very subtle way so it almost felt like it ran itself. Having use of the campsite facilities for the pizza, bar, breakfast and showers etc was ideal. Obviously the scenery speaks for itself in that it has to be one of the most beautiful places in the planet. We have already been back to the campsite for a visit and plan to come every year for our anniversary. Hints and tips; I would recommend the bride and groom to stay the extra night post wedding day as you will want to drink it all in before going back to reality.

We had the most amazing weekend celebrating our wedding at Llyn Gwynant Barns.
Nic and the team were so helpful in the run up to the wedding which was great because we live over two hours away from the venue so it was handy to know that they were always on hand to answer our questions!
The weekend itself was brilliant and exactly what we wanted, staff were on hand to help if we needed it but we were also left alone to do our own thing. This created a very relaxed atmosphere which was perfect for our wedding weekend!
We booked the barns and campsite from the Thursday to the Monday which I would absolutely recommend because it gave us plenty of time to decorate and prepare for our wedding on the Saturday but also enjoy the beautiful surroundings after the wedding… and also time to enjoy the left over wine!
Over all a perfect wedding venue if you want a very personalised chilled out wedding weekend.

My husband and I have always loved Llyn Gwynant being regular campers to the site. When we decided to get married, there was only ever one place for us! The site is a truly magical place where we ‘regenerate’ every Easter, not least by jumping off Elephant rock into the Lake!!
From the beginning of our preparations right through to the day we left, Nic and the team were more than helpful. Have to give a special shout out for Steve – the barn’s very own ‘wedding planner’ who was lovely to have around on the day and made sure everything went smoothly – he even tested the food for us, what a hero!!
We had a real self-catering wedding which was lovely as everyone joined in decorating the barn with bunting and we made up our own little pots of flowers on the Friday night. Highly recommend Hen Dy Garden flowers – Sandra and Jeff were the nicest people, so welcoming and their flowers were fabulous!! We were so lucky with the weather – a scorching weekend in April was never expected but very welcome!

The staff, from first enquiry to end, were very helpful. Our visits, from pre- booking right up to our wedding, were informative. There was no pressure on time, as well as always being greeted by enthusiastic staff, willing to answer numerous questions.
Our day ran smoothly, and staff were on call for help from checking in (the day before), right through to check out (the day after our wedding). We really were trusted and left to set up and enjoy the hiring of the stunning barns, without any interference – as promised.
One of our favourite things about this venue is that you have the freedom to put yourselves into it, making it a very personal venue.

Sam and I along with our two pugs spend most of our spare time out in the countryside and north Wales is our favourite place in the UK.
As soon as we saw Llyn Gwynant from the top of the valley we knew it was perfect for us. From being able to choose all our own suppliers, hiring the venue between Friday to Monday and being able to camp in the adjacent field helped us really reflect who we are on our wedding day. We were able to have all our loved ones in the same place all weekend enjoying campsite pizzas, campfires, late night kitchen gatherings and the most perfect wedding day. Not having any phone signal was certainly a bonus – people talking, laughing and dancing without staring at their mobiles!
Nic and the team were incredible, making everything flow smoothly and were always on hand for advice. We would recommend Llyn Gwynant to anyone wanting a unique wedding or a special party. When planning a DIY wedding it can be quite daunting considering all the things you have to organise, from tables and napkins to making sure the vendors turn up on the right day, and Nic makes it so much easier.
We will never forget it and our family and friends think it’s a hard wedding to beat – thank you all!!

We have absolutely no regrets choosing this incredible venue for our wedding. Essentially you’re hiring a stone Barn and surrounding land in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
We arrived the day before the wedding and had great fun decorating the Barn with our own bunting etc – really making the place feel like our own.
Nic, Charlie and the rest of the Gwynant team looked after us so well giving us a few tips about layout etc (and saving us when we forgot 100 bowls for pudding…) but without being bossy like so many glossy wedding venues! Gwynant is not glossy and that’s exactly why we chose it! Rustic, hearty, earthy and wonderful (and they let you bring your own bar with no corkage!)
We were prepared for bad weather on the wedding day itself (hired pagodas at the ready!)- but in fact we were blessed with incredible June sunshine. A civil marriage plus a multi-faith ceremony with small orchestra and choir (!) followed by drinks and photos in the field, a hearty feast in the barn and real welsh ceilidh. The night ended with a warming campfire complete with guitars and singing.

Llyn Gwynant barns was the perfect place for us to get married; we met just above the campsite on Snowdon nearly 10 years earlier, and made lots of lifelong friends in the surrounding mountains over the years. The barns provided a relaxed and beautiful setting for us and our mountain loving friends and families.
We were able to hire the venue for the whole weekend, so most of our guests camped and we hired out the canoes on the day for us and our more adventurous guests (yes, a couple did fall in). The day was complete with a hog roast, ceilidh, giant bubbles, games and a bouncy castle (Gareth’s specific request). The Llyn Gwynant team couldn’t have been more helpful, both over the weekend and during the hectic planning. Their flexible and accommodating approach, along with their fantastic website took a lot of stress out of the wedding planning and helped he weekend run smoothly.
Llyn Gwynant is a really unique place. It’s in such a beautiful setting, and the whole venue lends itself to a relaxed atmosphere. There’s something wonderful about stumbling to a tent in the evening and waking up to the most amazing view with all your friends and family (in varying states of repair) waking up around you. We all had an absolutely fantastic weekend; the wedding was exactly what we wanted – informal, fun and definitely memorable. Our love of the outdoors and Snowdonia was at the heart of the wedding plans and the Barns, Campsite and Lake allowed us to share our love with all our friends and family. It is a truly beautiful place and it requires very little “embellishment” to make it a stunning place to get married.
The team at the barns are incredibly easy to deal with and we used their guidance for how to plan the barns out and who to use for catering. We were also encouraged by them to do things our own way and we used all our friends and families talents to make the day run smoothly and perfectly individual to us. Planting a tree in the wedding woodland means that we will not only feel connected to this amazing place but have a physical memory to come back and visit in years to come.

The Llyn Gwynant Barns had everything we were looking for in a wedding venue: stunning scenery, a place for our guests to camp to really make a weekend of it, and a space that we could decorate exactly how we wished.
The entire weekend was just amazing that began with guests chatting over wood-fired pizza in the kitchen the night before the big day, and ended with us taking boats out on the lake the day after.

We’ve stayed at Llyn Gwynant in tents and campervans a number of times over the years, and have many happy memories of Snowdonia. So when we finally got round to tying the knot, we knew that the barns here would be perfect for our day. We really wanted to have a wedding that was relaxed and stress free for everyone involved, and using the barn and field at Llyn Gwynant was the perfect setting.
Nic and the team at Llyn Gwynant were enormously helpful from start to finish, showing us round and explaining how other weddings had been organised before. Over the weekend itself they were always on hand to make sure everything was okay, but left us to enjoy our day. They helped us to get everyone parked up as they arrived, and made sure we had room for any camper vans too.
We barbecued outside on the Friday night, used the huge catering kitchen to do sausage butties each morning, and made use of all of the large tables to serve the lunch and the evening meal as a buffet. As we were so lucky with the weather (It is Wales, so always have a back up plan!) we were able to have a few drinks outside after the main ceremony and take in the stunning surroundings. Once we’d rearranged the hall it was perfect for a sit down meal, and then we changed it round again to make room for some people to dance, whilst others toasted marshmallows around the fire pit outside.
Away from the chaos of the wedding, it was great to see our guests relaxing in the private camping fields, having a stroll along the lake, or keeping their kids entertained in the sunshine. The day after the wedding a few of us headed off up Snowdon, whilst others went out on their bikes or took boats on to the lake.
We had the best three days of our lives – if we could get married again at Llyn Gwynant, we would!

Pete and I met at university through our shared love for hiking and the outdoors, so it was important for us to get married in a beautiful mountain setting. We could not have found a better venue for this than Llyn Gwynant barns, situated near the foot of Snowdon by a spectacular lake. It allowed us to have a relaxed and informal wedding with many of our guests camping alongside us, and we loved having the freedom to choose all our own suppliers and make the day as personal as possible.
Despite the weather all our guests said it is one of the most fun and unique venues they’ve been to. The space provided by the field and barns allowed us to have a bouncy castle, beer festival, ceilidh, sparklers and a rounders game, and some guests even swam in the lake the next day!

We were staying at Llyn Gwynant campsite when we got engaged – when we asked could we chill our bottle of celebratory champagne in the staff fridge, we were told that they had a barn which was licensed for weddings! We looked at the venue the very next day while we were there, and never even considered anywhere else.
We could not have asked for a better wedding, Tom and his groomsmen were swimming in the lake on the morning of the wedding, and pretty much the whole wedding party went for a dip the day after.
